About The Fund
We believe in supporting our local farmers not just through our purchases but also through dedicated efforts to assist them in times of need. A portion of our profits from merchandise sales and ad revenue is set aside into a special fund designed to help farmers who have experienced disasters such as flooding, foxes in the chicken coop, and other unforeseen calamities.
When the fund reaches a significant amount, we will open it for farmers to apply for funding to help them recover from unfortunate events. Our goal is to provide support that can make a real difference in their ability to bounce back and continue their vital work of producing local food.

How can you be sure the funds are going to someone legitimate?
We do our best to validate that each application is authentic, and not someone just trying to get free money. We trust that most people will be honest. Before giving out funds, we will be having phone or zoom calls, as well as asking for pictures and other evidence to ensure we are sending funds to farmers who need it.
Does everyone who applies get funding?
Although we would love to provide funding to everyone who applies, it isn't likely going to happen that way. We will have to pick as best we can based on a number of factors, many of which we don't entirely know. It will be an at will basis as we choose who to send funding to. We will do our best to be fair and generous with getting funds to farmers in need.
Why do you use ads on your site?
Displaying ads gets us free revenue from Google, which means we can take the money that Google gives us and spend it on keeping these sites up and running, as well as contributing to the Farmers Fund.
Can I donate to the fund?

What do you do with the money while the fund is growing?
We invest it in very safe, semi-liquid investments such as short-term CDs. This allows us to grow the fund passively while we are waiting for it to accumulate enough money to give out to farmers. It also ensures that over time we make the fund as large as possible.
