Trinity Episcopal Church hosts this Saturday market on Highway 231 as a no-cost place for farmers from Autauga, Chilton, Elmore, and Montgomery counties to sell direct. Tallassee

Tallassee Farmers' Market opens at 8 a.m. every Saturday on Barnett Boulevard, running through late summer. The market has indoor space and takes both cash and card, which isn't a given at a small-town Alabama market this size.

Millbrook

Millbrook Farmers Market runs Tuesday mornings from 7 a.m. to noon, mid-May through mid-August, at Village Green Park. MONTGOMERY

Montgomery State Farmers Market has operated out of its Federal Drive building since 1986, one of four markets the Alabama Farmers Market Authority runs statewide. It's open seven days a week, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., with indoor stalls selling Alabama produce and farm goods year-round rather than a single weekly market day. Cash and card both work here.

Montgomery

Now in its third decade, the Saturday market at the Shoppes at Eastchase has grown into one of the five largest in Alabama. Twenty-plus certified vendors, including Penton Farms, Dixon Family Farms, and Leatherwood Nursery, set up from 7 a.m. to noon between May and September, selling fresh eggs, honey, jellies, and boiled peanuts a few steps from the mall's H&M and Sephora.

Sylacauga

Set up at Blue Bell Park on North Norton Avenue, the Sylacauga Farmers Market runs Friday mornings, 7 a.m. to noon, from late May through early August. It's one of the Talladega County markets certified for the WIC Farmers Market Nutrition Program, so WIC recipients can use their vouchers there on fresh produce.
