Douglas Orchard & Farm grows pick-your-own blueberries and apples alongside no-spray vegetables, herbs, and raw honey from its own hives. The Socrat family bought the old Douglas Orchard in 2016 and built out a country store stocked with maple syrup, goat cheese, beeswax goods, and farm-raised pork and chicken. Visitors can walk the grounds to see the animals, play cornhole, or catch live music at the pavilion. Open Thursday through Sunday, 8am to 4pm.

Hawk Hill Orchards has grown apples, peaches, and plums on Carleton Road since Kent Stowe took over the family homestead in 1997, continuing a fruit stand his parents started decades earlier. The name comes from hawks that nest on the property. Pick-your-own visitors come mostly for the Northern Spy apples — an old variety that grows unusually large here, juicy enough for cider and firm enough to hold up in a pie.

Sherborn

Dowse Orchards has grown apples, vegetables, and flowers on the same Sherborn land for 200 years, making it one of Massachusetts's certified Century Farms. The roadside stand, running for more than 60 years, stocks over 20 apple varieties — McIntosh, Cortland, and Macoun among the favorites — plus fresh-pressed cider, maple syrup, and preserves. Spring greenhouses supply perennials and flowers; December brings cut-your-own Christmas trees. Open Monday through Saturday, 9am to 6pm.

Pomfret Center

Lapsley Orchard has grown food on its 200 acres in Pomfret Center since colonial days, with land tied to Israel Putnam's 1750 purchase. The farm runs pick-your-own apples, blueberries, and pumpkins plus cut-your-own flowers, and its retail stand sells cider, maple products, honey, baked goods, and jams from fruit and vegetables grown on site.

Woodstock

Woodstock Orchards grows more than 20 apple varieties on Route 169, along with blueberries, peaches, and pumpkins, all picked on site. The bakery opens at 6:30 a.m. daily for cider donuts and pies; the retail store runs until 6 p.m. Beyond pick-your-own apples and blueberries, the farm bottles an award-winning hot sauce and sells it alongside the produce.

Woodstock

High Springs Orchard runs pick-your-own blueberries, peaches, and apples from July through mid-October, and its country store sells farm vegetables, jams, jellies, cider, and Grandma Miller pies year-round. The Dividend Road orchard is open Tuesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., June through December.

Charlton

Charlton Orchards combines a fruit orchard with a farm winery, and the pick-your-own list covers apples, blueberries, peaches, pears, plums, pumpkins, raspberries, blackberries, and strawberries across the Old Worcester Road property. A cider mill, farm bakery, and wine tasting room round out the retail store, and the barnyard and picnic area host festivals, weddings, and birthday parties through the season.

Eastford

Buell's Orchard has farmed the same ground on Crystal Pond Road in Eastford since 1889, now pick-your-own for strawberries, blueberries, peaches, apples, and pumpkins alongside a farm market selling sweet corn and other local produce. The farm closes out the season with an annual Harvest Festival on Columbus Day weekend and a Trunk or Treat the last Sunday of October. No pets allowed on the grounds.
