Balance Rock Farm is a fifth-generation family farm in Berlin, Massachusetts whose farm stand occupies an 1800s cobbler shop from the Cottage Shoe era; once a 130-head dairy bottling milk in glass, the farm switched around 2008 to raising meats and eggs. No commercial fertilizers, pesticides, or hormones have been used since 1983 across its 140 acres, and visitors can meet the goats, alpacas, Perdie the sheep, and Gruff the cat while shopping local cheeses, honey, and maple syrup.
