Brainerd

Brambling Rows Farm is a family-run farm and greenhouse in the Brainerd Lakes area growing pick-your-own raspberries and grapes in summer, plus heirloom tomatoes, asparagus, rhubarb, garlic, melons, and a hydroponic lettuce they developed. John and Ruth Jansen started it out of a love for horticulture, and Travis and Rachel Cobb took over in 2019. Their produce also shows up at the Nisswa and Brainerd farmers markets.

Brainerd

Nelson-Shine Produce is a family-run vegetable farm near Brainerd that grows and sells a wide range of vegetables through the summer and runs a CSA. The Nelsons recently wound down a poultry-processing side of the business to focus on produce. Members and drop-in buyers order vegetables in season directly from the farm; Ron handles orders.

Nisswa

Jake and Scout's Berry Farm was a pick-your-own blueberry and cut-flower farm in the Brainerd Lakes area near Nisswa, started by Lise Herren, with Wednesday evening s'mores a fixture of its early seasons. The property sold in 2019 to Todd and Tracy Linbo, who now run it as Double T Acres, still offering u-pick blueberries off County Road 29.

Pick-your-own strawberries run from mid-June to mid-July near Brainerd, open 7am to 5pm daily until the patch is picked out. Blueberries follow around mid-July, available Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays from 7am to noon. You can pick your own or have the crew pick for you, and families are welcome. Little Falls

Home Farm sells produce direct from the Januschka family's place east of Little Falls, in central Minnesota, with on-farm pickup for local buyers. The lineup follows the season, with vegetables and fruit as each crop comes ready. A small family farm listed through a regional local-food market rather than a storefront of its own.

Pine River

Red Barn Orchard grew apples for more than 20 years off 44th Street SW near Pine River before closing its pick-your-own operation; the owner now keeps apples and bees on a smaller scale. In its full seasons it offered 14 varieties, including Honeycrisp, Zestar, SnowSweet, and Chestnut Crab, plus fresh-pressed cider, honey, and pumpkins, all grown under integrated pest management.

Pine River

Pick-your-own Northblue blueberries, a hardy Minnesota-bred variety, grown without chemicals near Pine River since 1994. The family farm opens roughly 9am to noon in late July and August, or by appointment when the berries are on. Call 218-587-2752 to confirm picking before you drive out.

Elm Island Lake Berry Farm has grown u-pick strawberries and raspberries since 1997 on small fields ringed by woods and hay meadows, six and a half miles southeast of Aitkin on County Road 12. Picking usually runs from late June into mid-July. Hours shift with the crop, so the farm asks pickers to call ahead for daily conditions; pre-picked berries need a few hours' notice.
