SOW (Shift Our Ways) Collective is a women-led sustainability nonprofit running collective backyard farms in Arleta and Reseda in the San Fernando Valley. The 501(c)(3) grows and distributes organic produce — over 500 pounds so far, with 2,500 pounds of food waste diverted — while offering education, youth harvest internships, and green spaces for community connection.

Feed and be Fed is an urban farm and garden nonprofit in San Pedro, California, with a garden on 6th Street in the downtown arts district and a farm at the Vic and Bonnie Christensen Science Center on Barrywood Avenue, maintained in partnership with the Los Angeles Unified School District.

Agoura Hills

AZ-Ranch is the Zadeh family's certified organic farm and nursery, built in the Santa Monica Mountains at Agoura Hills in 2000 and rebuilt stronger after losing most of the farm to the 2018 wildfires. The family grows organic figs, microgreens, and seasonal fruits and vegetables, produces raw honey plus duck and chicken eggs, added a second organic farm in Camarillo in 2022, and sells at local farmers markets and grocery stores (the working farm itself isn't open to the public).

The Long Beach Farmers' Market is part of Harbor Area Farmers Markets, which runs certified farmers markets across the harbor area in partnership with the South Coast Interfaith Council. Markets are open rain or shine year-round, closing only for Thanksgiving and the winter holidays, with online ordering direct from California farmers.
