Redding

Named for longtime local market advocate Marilyn Miller, this Tuesday market sets up at 1700 Churn Creek Road next to the Dairy Queen, 7:30 a.m. to noon, June through early October. The Shasta Growers Association has run certified markets in the Redding area since 1977, making this one of the older farmers market operations in the North State.

The Shasta Growers Association has run certified markets in Shasta County since 1977, and the Saturday Redding market behind City Hall on Cypress Avenue is their flagship — 8:30 a.m. to noon, produce, nuts, eggs, meat, honey, and baked goods from growers who have to prove they grew it themselves to get a stall. The same association also runs markets in Burney and Anderson.

Redding

Sundays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., May through October, in the parking lot by the Sundial Bridge — the Shasta Growers Association's second Redding-area market, running alongside their longtime Tuesday location on Churn Creek Road. Market Street Fair Market sets up on Market Street in Redding, at the northern end of the Sacramento Valley near the Cascade foothills. It serves Shasta County growers and residents in a region better known for orchards and ranchland than large-scale row crops.

Shasta Lake sits a few miles north of Redding, in the shadow of Shasta Dam, drawing on the same Shasta County growing region as Redding's larger certified markets — stone fruit, walnuts, and garden vegetables suited to the valley's hot, dry summers. Confirm the current season's hours before visiting; smaller Shasta County markets often run shorter calendars than the Redding flagship.

Anderson

In 2008 we began selling mandarins to several local markets and school districts. That effort led to Mandarin sales beyond what our small orchard could provide. We contacted some friends with mandarins and began selling their mandarins too. A local school\'s food service director contacted us and asked if we could provide more varieties of local products. We contacted more growers, went to several local grower meetings, and now provide an abundance of products grown in the Northstate to stores and schools. We strive and have built great relationships with the growers, schools, and stores during this expansion of Happy Valley Fresh. Currently, in 2024, we are delivering to 87 schools in the Sacramento Valley and working with 24 farms. We will continue to focus on providing good service, good relationships, and great-tasting products throughout the upcoming years.

Anderson

The Shasta Growers Association runs its Anderson stop on Thursdays, 8 a.m. to noon, near the outlets along Highway 273 — the same grower-run nonprofit behind farmers markets in Redding and Burney. Like its sister markets, Anderson accepts EBT for shoppers using food assistance. For vendor or schedule questions, the association can be reached directly.

Cottonwood straddles the Shasta-Tehama county line along the Sacramento River, a small unincorporated community built around Main Street. This market pairs a certified farmers market with an artisan fair, mixing produce stalls with handmade-goods vendors.

The Red Bluff-Tehama County Chamber of Commerce runs this Wednesday-evening market, 5 to 8pm, June through August, on Washington and Pine Streets in front of the historic Tehama County Courthouse. Beyond the produce stands, expect food trucks, live music, and kids' activities — built as much for a summer evening out as for grocery shopping. CalFresh/EBT is accepted.

RED BLUFF

Red Bluff is the Tehama County seat, a ranching and orchard town in the upper Sacramento Valley known for walnuts, olives, and cattle. This certified market runs on Main Street downtown, a direct-sale outlet for growers working the valley floor between the river and the foothills.
