Wells Hollow is a fifth-generation family farm in Shelton that opened its ice cream creamery in 2007, run by Daniel and Jamie Wells. The shop turns over more than 50 homemade flavors alongside smoothies, soft serve, Italian ice, and ice cream cakes, with dairy sourced from farms across Connecticut, Vermont, Maine, and Michigan. A 3,000-square-foot open-air patio hosts birthday parties and farm-animal visits alongside the ice cream counter.

Easton

Shaggy Coos Farm & Creamery in Easton is New England's southernmost dairy, raising livestock humanely on a diet of grass, hay, and antibiotic- and hormone-free grain. The honor-system farm store on Center Road is open every day from 7 AM to 7 PM with fresh milk, beef and pork cuts, and hand-collected eggs.

Redding

Arethusa Farm Dairy has milked its own herd of more than 300 cows at 822 Bantam Road in Bantam, Connecticut, since 1999, bottling milk and making ice cream, cheese, butter, and yogurt on-site. The farm also runs Arethusa al tavolo, a dairy-to-table restaurant, and Arethusa a mano, a bakery cafe.
