Blue Heron Orchard became Missouri's first certified-organic apple orchard in 2000, having planted its trees under organic practice back in 1990. It grows apples and presses cider on a Mississippi River bluff near Canton, about 30 miles north of Hannibal, and also sells vegetables and its own Tap Dancer popcorn. Autumn is the main season to visit.
