Cracker Box Palace is a nonprofit farm-animal shelter on the historic Alasa Farms grounds near Alton, in Wayne County. It cares for roughly 150 rescued animals, including horses, pigs, goats, sheep, cows, geese, chickens, and rabbits taken in from abuse and neglect cases. Visitors tour the property, meet the animals, join Camp Discovery days, and adopt. The shelter runs as a 501(c)(3) and partners with local humane societies.
