About This Farm

Kenny and Janice Johnson grow blueberries, blackberries, elderberries, Japanese persimmons, and figs on land near Mount Airy that once produced tobacco. They started the farm in 2007 and sell through farmers markets, local stores, and area restaurants rather than a pick-your-own field. On-farm pickup is available when you call ahead. The mix of standard berries with less common fruit like persimmons and figs sets the operation apart in Surry County.
