About This Farm
Pollo Real has raised pastured chicken along the Rio Grande near Socorro for more than 20 years. Owner Tom Delehanty, a sixth-generation farmer, certified it as the country's first organic poultry farm in 1996 and built it into one of the largest pastured poultry operations in the U.S. Birds move daily to fresh grass in portable shelters, and the farm hatches, raises, processes, and packs on site. Whole fryers, roasters, and cut-up chicken sell year-round at the Santa Fe Farmers' Market.
