The Original Portsmouth Farmers Market, started in 1996 by Scioto County WIC, sets up on Market Street in downtown Portsmouth on Tuesday mornings from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., June into late October. Growers from Scioto County and the surrounding southern Ohio river country bring produce raised under Ohio cottage-food rules. A separate Saturday market runs near Market Square in the same downtown.
