The Saturday market in the World Market/Embassy Suites lot on Madonna Road is the largest of the five certified markets the San Luis Obispo County Farmers' Market Association runs — more than 60 vendors in a tight 8 to 10:45 a.m. window. The association has operated since 1978 under one rule: farmers sell only what they grow, and prepared-food vendors sell only what they make. It's shorter and earlier than the famous Thursday night Downtown market.
