Swede Pickings is a no-spray, organically managed orchard and vineyard on about eight acres near Bay City, Wisconsin, above Lake Pepin. Four acres of orchard yield apples, pears, plums, and cherries, and two-plus acres of vines grow wine and table grapes. The farm presses cider ten gallons at a time, destems grapes, and sells raw cider by the half gallon along with jellies and honey. It opens select weekends from mid-July through October.
