Duff's Sugar House boils maple syrup at Fair Lawn Farm on Mill Gap Road in Highland County, Virginia's maple-syrup heartland. Each late winter the sugar house taps mountain maples and cooks the sap down over an evaporator. It opens to the public during the Highland Maple Festival in March, when visitors watch the boil and buy fresh syrup and maple candy. Blue Grass and Monterey sit nearby.
