Hackett's Orchard grows more than 50 apple varieties on South Street in South Hero, out in Vermont's Champlain Islands. During harvest the farm runs pick-your-own and sells fresh-pressed cider, cider doughnuts, cider slush, and apple crisp from the stand. Hours run 8am to 4pm through the fall season, then the orchard closes over winter. Family-run, it's an easy stop while driving the islands along Route 2.
