McClure Christmas Tree Farm has been cutting Fraser, Canaan, and Concolor firs outside LaPorte since 2007, now run by three generations of the same family. Visitors cut their own tree from more than 9,000 planted, ride a hayride, warm up at the bonfire pit, and shop wreaths and ornaments in a restored century-old dairy barn. The season opens the weekend before Thanksgiving.
