About This Farm

Persephone Farm, run by Rebecca Slattery in Indianola on the Kitsap Peninsula, grows vegetables, fruit, and cut flowers using organic methods that go beyond the national standard: careful crop rotations, homemade compost, cover crops, and beneficial insectaries in place of synthetic inputs. Pastured hens supply eggs. The farm sells through a CSA with pickups on-site and on Bainbridge Island, at the Saturday Bainbridge farmers market, and to local restaurants. Its trained floral designers also build full wedding flower packages.
