About This Farm
Gene Kahn started this Skagit Valley farm in 1972 as the original Cascadian Farm, and the land has grown organically for more than 50 years. General Mills donated the 90-acre home farm to the nonprofit Rodale Institute, which now runs it as the Pacific Northwest Organic Center. The site sits along the Skagit River below the North Cascades foothills and hosts regional organic research, field days, and grower education.
