About This Farm
In 1979, my Grandfather bought the farm we currently live on. He began farming much the conventional way, planting corn, soybeans, and wheat. In 1989, he began experimenting with cover crops and no-till and discovered he could use less herbicide by planting a cover crop of cereal rye ahead of his soybeans. In 2006, Dad bought the farm and continued to implement cover crops and no-till. Today we are over 90% no-till, use cover crops as much as possible and have almost entirely eliminated our use
