St Mary of the Woods

White Violet Center for Eco-Justice is a working organic farm run by the Sisters of Providence at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods. A herd of roughly 40 alpacas has grazed here since 1998, providing fiber for garments and manure for the gardens, alongside laying hens and beehives. The farm store sells organic produce, honey, maple syrup, cheese, and alpaca-fiber goods from the 5-acre certified organic garden, and the center runs tours, workshops, and alpaca feeding events.

Operating as Cherrywood Farm since 1972 before its recent name change, this Rosedale orchard runs u-pick strawberries, cherries, blueberries, blackberries, peaches, and apples from May into October. The farm store adds a bakery with apple dumplings and cinnamon rolls, a scoop shop, and local honey and Vermont maple syrup for anyone stocking up after the pick. Apple season typically runs August through late October.
