The Golden Spread Farmers Market has run since 1986 and calls itself the oldest, most consistent farmers market in the Texas Panhandle. It sets up at Sunset Marketown, 3701 Plains Blvd in Amarillo, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 7am to noon, July through September. Growers bring produce usually picked within a day of sale, including tomatoes, melons, okra, squash, sweet corn, peppers, and onions, plus local baked and canned goods.
