We specialize in the preservation and promotion of the endangered heritage breeds and heirloom varieties that have sustained us for countless generations. These heritage breeds and heirloom varieties have retained the vigor and flavor that have been unfortunately sacrificed with the advent of modern factory production. Our chickens are Free Range and Cage Free. Our produce is pesticide and herbicide free grown in a sustaining way consistent with organic principles. We are located in Elbert, Colorado and all of our produce is grown locally.

The 2026 CSA offers a traditional 20-week vegetable share or a flexible CSA card share for shopping the stand on your own schedule, plus fruit, egg, and flower shares, along with farm tours and volunteer opportunities.

Folks Farm & Seed grows regionally adapted vegetables, flowers, and plants on 2.5 acres in Fort Collins using regenerative, beyond-organic practices focused on living soil, nutrient density, and seed saving. On 2.5 acres marked by a big red barn on South Taft Hill Road, Folks Farm & Seed practices regenerative agriculture that builds living soil while growing vegetables, flowers, and regionally adapted plants for Fort Collins. The farm sells through CSA farm shares and farm box subscriptions, the Larimer County and Fort Collins Winter farmers markets, and a self-service farm stand open Tuesday through Sunday most of the year.

Monroe Family Farms (formerly Monroe Organic Farms) runs a Colorado CSA with summer, fall/winter, and working shares, constantly trialing new and heirloom varieties in pursuit of the best-tasting vegetables the farm can produce.

Monroe Family Farms, established in 1936 in Weld County southeast of Greeley, is one of Colorado's longest-running CSA farms, growing chemical-free produce with a philosophy that puts taste and nutrient density ahead of size and appearance. The farm offers summer and fall/winter CSA shares, working shares, and add-ons, delivered to distribution centers plus farmers markets and restaurant partners across the Front Range.

The Old Fort

The Old Fort at Hesperus, Colorado — 16 miles southwest of Durango — is Fort Lewis College's 501-acre agricultural campus, training future farmers for arid mountain environments through the Farmers-in-Training program, a business incubator field, and a ranching apprenticeship. The public can join the weekly CSA, shop the Fort Lewis College farm stand and Country Store, and visit for tours and events on land steeped in Southwest history.
