Sylvanaqua Farms now sells through Blackbird, a farming cooperative delivering pasture-raised chicken and eggs from its member farms plus pasture-raised beef from Monrovia Farm in Westmoreland County, Virginia. The Straight family has run Whiffletree Farm in Warrenton, Virginia since 2009, raising chicken, pork, beef, turkey, lamb, and eggs with earth-conscious practices — sold at the on-farm store six days a week, through 23 local pickup locations, whole and half animals, and even laying hen adoptions. Poultry-processing workshops, internships, a food bank donation program, and vacation stays at the historic Manor House guest home round out the mission.
