Barrett Orchards, known locally as The Fruit Place, sells tree-ripened peaches, nectarines, apricots and organic blueberries from its stand on Pecks Canyon Road west of Yakima. Elberta peaches and white nectarines are the summer standouts. This is a farm shop rather than u-pick, and the on-site Ice Cream Barn scoops Winegar's ice cream next to shelves of fruit spreads, gifts and local goods. Open Monday through Saturday and Sunday afternoons in summer.
