Branched Oak Creamery

Branched Oak Farm raises a growing herd of Jersey cows on 240 certified organic acres in Raymond, Nebraska, 16 miles from downtown Lincoln, selling everything it produces locally — seasonal cheeses include quark, fresh mozzarella, Camembert, Alpine varieties, and Gouda. Management-intensive rotational grazing and Animal Welfare Approved practices back the on-farm "Inconvenience Store" (open Tuesdays and Saturdays), Lincoln's Old Cheney Road market, and local grocers, with raw milk available too.

Common Good Farm, 1.5 miles north of Raymond in southeast Nebraska, is Evrett Lunquist and Ruth Chantry's mom-and-pop operation in its 30th season — one of only about 150 Demeter-certified Biodynamic farms in the United States, certified organic since farming began here in 1996. The farm raises certified organic pastured pork, 100% grass-fed beef, and gorgeous pasture eggs plus two acres of veggies and herbs, with an annual spring organic plant sale and eggs stocked at Lincoln grocers.
